Hello! Where did the year go?!
It is unbelievable that we are fast approaching the end of 2020. What a year! It is one that I am guessing most of us will be glad to leave behind. COVID definitely wreaked havoc and will continue to do so into 2021. Thank goodness the vaccines are on their way.
As I have mentioned before COVID slowed everything down with Kitty Pause development. We learned that we had to submit a new set of plans for the one large cat lounge model we moved to when I dropped the coffeehouse from the plans. That meant reapproval by the Mesa Planning Board and resubmission of the new plan with new electrical and mechanical plans for permit approval.
Long story, short. . . we are at the point of resubmitting the revised plans to the City of Mesa in hopes that we will get approval and the renovation permit by the first of the year or soon thereafter. That pushes our potential opening date back to late March or early April by the time the renovations are complete.
That may actually be a good thing with respect to the COVID situation.
The other side of the coin is the funding side. With COVID, lenders have really tightened up the flow of funds for new small business development. As a result, I have only obtained an SBA loan for a portion of the renovation expenses. So, I am moving into MAJOR fundraising mode now!
I have created a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo and am offering some interesting thank you perks that I hope will interest you and your cat-loving friends. Make plans to join the Kitty Pause Kitty Crew by donating today and claiming your perk!
To interest you even more in joining the Kitty Pause Kitty Crew, I now have architectural renderings of the renovated space complete with cat and human avatars below!
Once the renovations start, I will start posting update videos of the progress as the Kitty Pause space becomes a reality. Keep checking back for further updates.
Thanks in advance for your support of the Kitty Pause fundraising campaign!
Stay safe and wear a mask.
